I've really enjoyed my friends, Kelly and Kelly's 365 photo blogs. They've given me inspiration, along with my new Samsung camera, to start my own 365 photo blog. I think a project like this will not only serve as a way to remember a year, but also help me understand what is important to me in my life. I know this photography journey will leave me a rich visual history of these 365 days. I know this won't be easy. Even though I already take a gazillion photos of my kids, our dog, our life - I don't take them every day, and I certainly don't upload them every day.
But I like a challenge, especially a creative one!
I found some great tips and I'll list them below in case there are any other 365er newbies reading this. These are from Photojojo's site:
- Bring Your Camera Everywhere
- Make Posting Easy
- Vary Your Themes
- Tell a Story
- Don’t Stop, No Matter What
- Post early, post often
"Your year-long photo album will be an amazing way to document your travels and accomplishments, your haircuts and relationships. Time moves surprisingly fast."
I also found some great tips from Shutter Sisters:
- Take your camera out with you every day.
- Shoot at least one shot in the morning.
- Set up a method to organize and share your series as you progress.
- Use this opportunity to get comfortable with your camera.
- Never say "I have nothing to shoot."
"If you've thought about taking this project on, I highly recommend it. Simply put, it changed my life. It taught me to see. To push myself creatively."
I'm hoping to start my day 1 of 365 on February 1st. I need to get some things organized first. In February I will be participating in a free photo workshop "the joy of LOVE" so that should help inspire me the first 28 days. I am also going to try and participate in the iheartfaces weekly photo challenges and learn from their tutorials.
So wish me luck! And hopefully you will follow me on my photo journey, I love receiving comments and feedback!

Awesome! I can't wait to start following your project. You should upload them to flickr too and join the project365 groups. Shutter Sisters has one. Also 365project.org is a cool site with a lot of people uploading their photos and following others!
Welcome! Looking forward to your projects and thanks for the tips! I really needed that today!
